Ganga Hospital, established in 1978 in Coimbatore by DR.JG Shanmuganathan and Mrs. Kanakavalli Shanmuganathan, began as a small healthcare hospital with only two operating theatres and 17 beds in Ramnagar, Coimbatore. By 2020, the hospital expanded to 650 beds and 28 operating theatres, becoming one of the largest speciality centers in South Asia.
